I agree. We need less mainstream news articles that are unable to write a factually correct piece about us, and more of us embracing the communities we live in with a smile. Being helpful doesn’t hurt either.
I knew about transgender people in the early '80s in the UK and personally had trans friends and colleagues in the early '90s -- so trans folks have been visible to me for about two-thirds of my life and, for the most part, they've always been people I knew personally, part of my circle, and to be honest, just plain normal... It has horrified me to see the pendulum swinging back, both here in the USA and back in my home country over the last decade or so.
